Susan Reay, EdD, LICSW

Susan was on the Nebraska licensure board for 13 years, serving as chair or vice chair for many of those years. She was an ASWB exam item writer, participated in the cut score exam analysis, and the practice analysis process. Currently, Susan is an expert witness in professional discipline cases for social work, counseling, and psychology. Her research areas include licensure, ethics, supervision, and the diffusion of innovation in mental health, including how social workers can best learn and integrate effective clinical supervision practice strategies.

In her recent publication, “Guiding the Way to Clinical Licensure: Creating a Practical Framework for the Provision of Clinical Social Work Supervision” (Springer Nature, 2023), Susan reflects her ongoing commitment to improving clinical licensure pathways and strengthening supervision practices in the profession.
