With superhero strength, supervisors experience the stories supervisees share, and that may result in burnout and compassion fatigue, potentially leading to professional impairment. Drawing on expert consensus research, this session highlights how supervision can be a protective practice to support competence, reduce practitioner impairment, and advance supervisee and public protection.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to identify at least two stress-responsive practices that can be applied as regulated supervisory expectations or best practices in supervision.
