Emily DeAngelo is the Administrator for the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners, where she has built a career dedicated to public protection, supporting the profession of social work, and the integrity of its practice. Emily’s journey with the Board began while she was a student at Southeastern Louisiana University. What started as a part-time college job quickly grew into a lifelong commitment. Upon graduation in 1997, she accepted a full-time role as Administrative Assistant, and through years of dedication, leadership, and institutional knowledge, she rose to become Administrator in 2008. Her expertise extended beyond LABSWE—she also served as Administrator for two additional licensing boards until 2013, when she joined LABSWE exclusively. A respected leader in the regulatory community, Emily has been twice honored with the Association of Social Work Boards Administrator Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to social work regulatory board service. Today, Emily continues to lead LABSWE with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and service to Louisiana consumers, the Board, and the broader social work community.
